Six out of five stars for our stay in this beautifully renovated Art Nouveau villa, located just a 10-minute walk from the historic center.
We don't want to talk too much about the tastefully decorated rooms, with high ceilings, parquet floors, modern bathrooms, and air conditioning. Nor do we want to say too much about the pleasant front garden with a sunbathing lawn, seating areas, and hammocks, all visually and acoustically shielded by a high wall.
The truth is, we'd love to come back here again and we fear that if word gets out about how great it is, we'll find the villa fully booked too often.
So shh, let's keep it our little secret.

Casa Kala is a stunning boutique hotel. It is perfectly located in the heart of Porto and is just a touching distance from the busy city centre. Everything about Casa Kala is elegant and sophisticated. We had such an amazing time in Porto and this was largely due to the attentive and personable staff, who were very helpful in providing an itinerary for our week-long holiday. Casa Kala has all the modern amenities you would expect and we love it so much that it will be our go to residence for whenever we are in Porto. The breakfast is also delicious! Thank you again to the entire team for your hospitality in a breathtakingly beautiful hotel.

Excellent place to stay!
This is an absolutely beautiful property which is centrally located, close to public transportation, and all the Porto’s main attractions. Great sound insulation, super fast internet, brand new rooms, great bathroom amenities, heating/cooling works quietly, linen with high treat counts, great water pressure, large bathroom and none slip large shower, powerful bathroom exhaust, very easy check in/out, large room with real hard wood floorings, excellent breakfast, and most importantly very friendly staff. Thanks very much Joaquin and his staff for all the services with smiles. We found this hotel much more beautiful, comfortable, elegant than 4-5 star hotels. They used very high quality building materials with guest comfort in mind, and it is very visible. We will definitely be back.

The location is central and yet quiet. The house is a villa in a garden, clearly set back from the street. Very newly renovated, everything in top quality. Very close to the metro, which takes you everywhere. The hosts are incredibly nice and helpful. The house has a wonderful, friendly, private and hospitable atmosphere.

Tranquility, kindness and beauty
I liked everything, the location, the facilities, everything impeccable, with all the luxury of details, the friendliness of the owners and the staff, it has been like being at home. Exceptional.

Love to detail!
The house is wonderful!!! The restoration done was perfect!!!! All the staff is very attentive, from arrival, with a wine waiting for us in the room and always asking us if we needed anything. Staff gave us good tour tips and was super kind to us. At breakfast there was nothing missing, lots of variety, all very tasty. The outside environment is also very beautiful and well maintained, we even had a picnic with cheese, olives and wine that we bought at the Bolhao Market, which is very close. This reminds me of telling you about the location of Casa Kala, which is perfect as it is close to many attractions and restaurants in the city and even with the typical ups and downs of Porto, we did everything on foot.

A truly wonderful stay in Porto
Everything!! From our arrival to our departure, we were treated exceptionally well. The property is amazing and has been beautifully restored. Simple, practical , elegant, tasteful, warm and comfortable are a few words which come to mind. We have travelled ( and are still doing so) all over the world on our motorcycle over the past 12 years and must say that Casa Kala is certainly one of our more memorable stays. Thank for taking such good care of us.

Casa Kala is the perfect place to visit Porto. The house is beautiful, the room impeccable, the breakfast super complete and the attention unbeatable. After spending five weeks in Portugal and staying in a variety of lodgings, I must say that Casa Kala was one of my favorites.
The restoration and enhancement of this historic property was a labor of love. The property is stunningly well done with fine attention to detail.
Location is very good, just outside the crowded tourist zone but close to a vibrant pedestrian street. It is within walking distance of Porto's must-see sights and convenient to the metro and other transit.
Breakfast was a delight and the gluten-free options met my needs.
Four nights at Casa Kala were not enough.
